The eldest of five, Oliver was born in Northam WA in 1914 to Oliver George Page (b1884 in Parkside, South Australia) and Alice Kathleen Anderson (b1893 in Caversham, WA). Oliver Snr (a Farm Hand) and Alice married in 1914 in Northam WA, where they settled and raised their family. Oliver Snr had arrived in WA in the early 1900s and worked as a Labourer and Farm Hand in Greenhills, Balkuling in York and Muresk before working as a 'Machinery Expert' and Mechanic in Toodyay, Northam WA.

Oliver worked as a Prospector in Rothscay, Mt Magnet near Kalgoorlie WA and in 1937 in Irwin, Kalgoorlie WA he married Grace Catherine Page (b1910 in Bunbury WA) - Grace was a Shop Assistant in Irwin. 

In February 1942 Oliver was in Adelaide River NT working as a Carpenter (Grace was in Toodyay, WA) when he enlisted in the ACMF (Private; Service No:D282). Oliver served in Darwin (2 February 1942 - 27 September 1942) and was attached to 9 Australian Army Troops when he was Discharged in October 1945. His three brothers - Gordon, Roy and William - also served in WWII.

Oliver and Grace settled in South Australia where Oliver died in 1983 and Grace in 2013.
