Son of Henry Harrington Osborn and Elizabeth Alice  Osborn nee Schofield of Commercial Road Bulimba, QLD.

Apprenticed to Simpson Helligan Company of Brisbane for two years.

Commenced return to Australia on 20 July 1919 aboard HT Morvada disembarking on 28 August 1919.
