Ross sailed for England January 1916
He was hospitalised on arrival after nearly dying from seasickness caused by storms off the west coast of Africa.
He returned home to Australia Seotember 1917.
During WW11 Ross managed a property at Hindmarsh Tiers so the owner could enlist in the RAAF.
