  1. Harry Stanley Conigrave was born on the 12th of February in 1882.
  2. Harry was born in Adelaide and that is where he lived throughout his life (except whilst at war).
  3. He was a civil servant by trade.
  4. He enlisted into the armed forces on the 20th of August in 1914.
  5. When he enlisted he was 32 years old.
  6. At the time of his enlistment, Harry Stanley Conigrave had no family of his own but he did have a brother: Dudley Garfield Conigrave.
  7. He was given a medical examination on 27/8/14 and was told he was fit for active service and had nothing wrong with him.
  8. Also on the 27/8/14 he was appointed to the 3rd light horse regiment. this was done at Morphetville.
  9. on the 31/8/15, Harry Stanley Conigrave was appointed temporary corporal.
  10. On the 11/10/15 Harry was reported sick to hospitol at Gallipoli Peninsular. Also on this date, Harry Conigrave was relinquished on his temporary corporal rank and was evacuated as sick.
  11. On the 29/10/15, a government hospital diagnosed him with paratyphoid (A fever resembling typhoid but cause by bacteria) while he was in Eygpt.
  12. On the 25/11/15, Harry was told he had an enteric (relating to the intestines) problem.
  13. By the 13/12/15, Harry Stanley Conigrave was back in Australia.
  14. On the 30/8/16, Harry was married to Eva Lilian Conigrave and they both lived at 60 Kermode Street, North Adelaide. Eva was given 4 shillings per day by Harry.
  15. Harry Conigrave was discharged from the armed forces on the 14/2/17 because of medical reasons. He server for 2 years 179 days and served abroad for 1 year 83 days.
  16. By the 16/3/17, Harry and Eva had a child. Harry was recieving 1 pound 10 shillings for his service, he was recieving extra pay for having a wife and child and revieved a further 25 shillings per day.
  17. On the 20/5/21, Harry Stanley Conigrave revieved on medal for his service between the years 1914 to 1915.

World War One had an enormous influence on the life of Harry Stanley Conigrave. The first way that the war affected him is by taking him away from his family. When Harry got married, the war affected his life because he was getting paid extra money and so was his wife. His family got paid even more money when they had a child. He was most likely affected by the war in that some of his friends may have been killed.
