Served a 5 year aprenticeship with Barclay Curle Co. of Glasgow, Scotland

Also served in the Boer War with the British Army's Argylle Highlanders

A Scottish Highlander, the late soldier originally belonged to tho Argyll and Sutherland Regiment, and was wounded while fighting In tho Boer war. He was an engineer by profession, nud a much-travelled man. He came to Australia about 14 years ago. 'A widow and two step-children survive.'
