Emanuel Milazzo lived a simple yet complicated life. He joined the AIF in 1914. He served as a heavy artillary gunner in the 36th regiment during his time in the military. His occupation before the war was an electrician. His closest family was his dad, Carlo Milazzo. 

He was 20 when he enlisted and quite tall at over 6 feet. He weighed about 64kg with dark hair and grey eyes. He was a Roman Catholic. At the end of the war he received the Victory Medal and the British War Medal.

Emanuel was twice wounded in action in 1918.
