The details provided are taken from the book "Stealth Raiders - a few daring men in 1918" written by Lucas Jordan, published 2017, refer to page 277. Prior to the war he was an orchardist of Hobart Tas. He enlisted 21st Sep 1915 aged 22 years. He served with the 12th Infantry Battalion, rising to the rank of Lieutenant. Unfortunately, he was Killed In Action 22nd April 1918. Rest In Peace. Lest We Forget.

Biography

"...2nd Lieutenant Ben Vaughan, 12th Battalion, of Lunawanna, Tas. An orchardist prior to his enlistment on 21 September 1915, he embarked for service on 18 February 1916 with the 15th Reinforcements. He was later promoted to the rank of lieutenant.
