Robert's parents were Robert Douglas Hunter and Mary Foster Ramsbotham. Robert's father was the head teacher of North Pine State School from 1903 to 1919. His parents were living at Petrie when he enlisted. He enlisted at Blackall 28 May 1915. When Robert returned from the war he lived with his parents at North Pine. He married Eileen Gertrude Carpenter in 1921 in Queensland. Robert's younger brother William [3062] enlisted as well and returned home to North Pine.
