Sapper Ray Raymond (Service No:S57545) enlisted in the ACMF as a Private on 29 December 1941 and commenced Full Time Duty at Fort Largs on 28 March 1942. On 31 December 1942 Private Raymond was attached to 10/48th Infantry Battalion, and on 5 October 1944 was a Sapper attached to 6 Australian Troops Coy RAE when he embarked from Brisbane for Bougainville on board the Wilfred Grenfell. Sapper Raymond was hospitalised with Asthma, and on 8 January 1945 emplaned from Lae for Brisbane. Sapper Raymond was attached to 6 Australian Troops Coy RAE at Discharge on 11 July 1946.

Born in 1923 in Jerusalem, Kadina South Australia, Scotty was second of ten children of Foster Dodd Raymond (b1902 in Jerusalem, Kadina, South Australia) and Edith Rose Schultz (b1905 at Brinkworth, South Australia). Foster (a Labourer) and Edith married in 1921 in Jerusalem, Kadina, South Australia where they settled and raised their family and Foster was a Labourer.

Scotty was a Butter Factory Employee before enlisting in the ACMF. Scotty died in 1989 and wife Aileen Clare in 2010.
