Son of Walter Owen of 'Dentcliffe', Doddington Road, Swallowbeck, Lincoln, England.
In 1919 Walter was approved for a Crown Lands farm for former soldier and sailors. He was allotted the 116 acre Bridge End Farm at Horbling in the Swanton Parish, Lincoln, England
