LANCE CORPORAL V. V. BROWN.
Lance-corporal V. V. Brown (wounded) is 22 years of age. He was educated at Dulwich Hill Superior Public School, and before the outbreak of war was employed in the country. He is a keen sportsman, and was a member of the Leichhardt Rowing Club, and the winner of several races. Lance corporal Brown enlisted early in the war. His parents reside at Leichhardt.

Military Cross

'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He maintained his position, in spite of being attacked by very superior numbers, and inflicted many casualties on the enemy, thereby saving a critical situation. He has on many previous occasions done fine work.'
