Son of Mr and Mrs G RULE of 65 Taylor's Road, Torrensville, SA. Educated at Thebarton, he was very interested in and was a member of Sea Scouts and the 1st Underdale Sea Scout Crew for many years and reached the rank of Rover Scout. In civilian life he worked at butchering in Rundle Street and left that employment when he enlisted. His father Pte. G Rule was a member of the Northumberland Fusiliers 8th Battalion and was service in the Great War in France.
