Ambrose Havelock FOGARTY was born in Kingston, Tasmania on 22nd April, 1898

His parents were Samuel Havelock FOGARTY & Mary Jane KNOTT who married in Franklin, Tasmania on 2nd June 1897

He enlisted in Claremont, Tasmania on 16th September, 1915 and embarked from Melbourne on the HMAT Afric on 5th January, 1916 with the 12th Infantry Battalion, 13th reinforcements

Ambrose was Killed in Action in Belgium on 7th October, 1917 - no known grave

His brother Arthur Ernest FOGARTY (SN 7733) also served during WW1 with the 12th Infantry Battalion and returned to Australia in 1919
