Son of James G and Anne E McBAIN, 94  Westborne Street, Petersham, NSW

William served in Egypt and France but was invalided to the 2nd Birmingham Hospital, England on 6th December 1916 suffering from heart diseace and was returned to Australia 30 July 1917 and discharged as medically unfit in August 1917.
