Biography contributed by Chris Buckley

Trooper Clifford Keith Morris (Service No:SX33025) - one of four brothers, and numerous cousins to serve in WWII - enlisted in the AIF as a Private on 28 July 1943 and was attached to 4, 11 and 33 Infantry Training Battalions (AITB) before being posted in 1944 to 2/9 Cavalry Regiment and 2/11 Commando Squadron - graded Signaller. Trooper Morris served in North East Borneo (23 April 1945 - 5 July 1946) with 2/11 Commando Squadron (re graded as Loader Operator), and was Discharged on 12 September 1946.

Seventh (and youngest surviving) of eight children, Cliff was born in Dulwich, Adelaide, South Australia in 1924 to Allan Clayton Morris (b1880 at Pichi Richi via Quorn, South Australia) and Caroline Charlotte Fidge (b1885 in Wandearaht, South Australia). Allan was a Railways Labourer in Keith, when he and Caroline married in 1906 in Coonlpyn, Wellington. Allan worked for SAGR as a Labourer and Railway Guard, and the family lived at Murray Bridge, Caltowie and Ki Ki via Coorong before settling in Adelaide.

Cliff started work as a Radio Mechanic and was a Munitions Worker in Adelaide when he enlisted in the Army in 1943. Following his Discharge, Cliff worked as a Linesman in Adelaide where, in 1950, he married Kathleen (Kath) Mary Schollar (b1925 at Hamley Bridge, South Australia). Cliff and Kath died in Adelaide - Kath in 1986 and Cliff in 2014.
