Signaller Alan Scott Storer (Service No:SX32167) first served with the ACMF as a Gunner (Service No:S42195) with 108 and 29 Tank Attack Regiments from 26 January 1942 to 29 June 1943. Gunner Storer enlisted in the AIF on 30 June 1943 with 2nd/1st Tank Attack Regiment and on 14 April 1944 was attached to 112 Tank Attack Regiment when he was promoted to Signaller. Signaller Storer served in New Guinea (29 June 1945 - 3 April 1946) and was Discharged on 7 May 1946.

The fourth of seven children, Alan was born in 1923 in Adelaide, South Australia to Stanley Benjamin Storer (b1886 in Adelaide, South Australia) and Alice Marsella Gladice Moloney (b1889 in Kapunda, South Australia). Stanley (a Draper) and Alice married in 1916 in Robertstown, South Australia and settled in Adelaide where they raised their family and Stanley was a Draper and Manufacturer.

Alan worked as a Store Hand in Adelaide prior to his enlistment in WWII and following his Discharge, joined the Civil Service as a Postal Officer with the Postmaster General's Department. In the late 1940s Alan married Mary (Molly) Irvin (b1925 at Port Adelaide, South Australia). Alan and Molly settled in Adelaide where they raised their family and Alan was a Civil Servant. Alan died in 2010 and Molly in 2015.
