Son of Arthur John POLE

On 9th February, 1942, 22 years old Stan Pole joined the 18th Garrison Battalion and spent the next 12 months in Australia, including 6 months in training at Dubbo.  Stan was drafted into the 25th Australian Infantry Battalion at Donadabou near Port Moresby in February 1943 and later served in Bougainville, where he saw action on the Numa Numa Trail to Pearl Ridge and at Buin Road near Slater's Reidge.

Stan was discharged on 9th Feburary 1946 - exactly four years after his enlistment.
