Mr William Desmond Jonas McKie
I was born on 3rd April, 1948 in Carlton, Victoria, William Desmond Jonas was my father. At the age of six William left to go back to South Australia. It was not until 8 years ago I was lucky enough to find out dad was in a nursing home in Elizabeth South Australia, a phone call to the home, a very understanding nurse and when told one very happy old man making his way down the hallway to speak with me. I have since that day and will continue to cherish the conversation between father and son. Arrangements were made there and then to travel to Elizabeth and catch up again with the man who was my dad. Unfortunately he passed prior to my arrival.
