Frederick George Gluyas

3 August 1918 – 4 December 1984

Frederick George Gluyas was born on 3 August 1918 at Clare, South Australia, the son of Frederick Thomas Gluyas (1886–1968) and Bertha Mary Wiseman (1891–1930). He grew up in South Australia and later resided at Brooklyn Park, where he would spend much of his adult life.

Marriage and Family Life

On 24 September 1942, during the Second World War, Frederick married Gladys Jane McGowan at the Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Thebarton, South Australia. The ceremony took place in the vestry at 7:00 pm and was recorded as having no reception, reflecting the wartime circumstances under which the marriage occurred.

The marriage ended in divorce in August 1960, after a separation of more than five years. Gladys later remarried.

On 15 December 1961, Frederick married Agnes Isobel Cruickshank at 46 Marion Road, Brooklyn Park, South Australia. Agnes remained his wife until his death in 1984.

He was laid to rest at Enfield Memorial Park, South Australia.
