Biography contributed by Faithe Jones

Son of Mrs A E and the late A G AUNGER of 89 Stanley Street, North Adelaide, SA.  Educated at Norwood Public School, Alexander took an interest in cricket and was a keen fisherman.  He was a member of the Angling Club and spent all his spare time with his rod.  In civilian life he was a plumber and joined the Militia for twelve months until he enlisted in April 1941.
