Born 20 January 1897 in Broken Hill, NSW, the son of James and Harriett Jane GUBBINS
who are the time of his enlistment were resident at 62 Winchester Street, Malvern, SA

Enlisted 03 April 1917 at Unley, SA
Served in Egypt and France with 104th Field Battery of the 4th Field Artillery Brigade
Returned to Australia 07 May 1919 aboard  the 'Kildonian Castle'
