Biography

"RAILWAY CHANGES

A Port Lincoln correspondent writes

Mr. W. N. Ancell, of the railway superintendent's office, Port Lincoln, and his wife and family, have left for Peterborough, to which place Mr. Ancell has been transferred. He was superintendent of the Port Lincoln division of the St. John Ambulance Brigade, and his departure, following closely upon that of the ambulance officer (Mr. J. Wadsworth) has left a gap in the ranks   of the brigade. The members of the brigade tendered Mr. Ancell a farewell. The newly-appointed ambulance officer (Mr. H. T. Hutchins) made a presentation to Mr. Ancell. Mr. H. R. Phillips (ambulance sergeant) spoke of the assistance given by Mrs Ancell in social events." - from the Peterborough Times and Northern Advertiser 15 Mar 1935 (nla.gov.au)
