Son of Mr William Henry WARNER and Caroline Liney nee SCHNAARS of 11 Moppett Street, Solomontown, SA.  Herbert was married with two children and residing at 4 Sixth Street, Port Pirie West when he nelisted in February 1942.  Educated at Port Pirie Public School he took a keen interest in pigeons and pigeon flying.  In Civil life he worked at the B.H.A. Smelters, Port Pirie.
