Son of Mr and Mrs Leslie E ALDERSON of Gawler, SA.

Married and residing at 66 Ellen Street Port Pirie, Leslie was educated at Solomontown Public and Port Pirie High Schools.  He was fond of tennis and a member of the Solomontown Methodist Choir and the Gawler Philharmonic Society.  In civil life he was a clerk with Treleaven and Brown Shipping Company and joined the 2nd AIF in November 1939.  He saw service in the Middle East and was in raid by Japanese whilst in Colombo.
