Biography

Noel was a farmer from when he was able to carry feed for the farm horses, then while school age, was responsible for farm tasks. Left school at 14, to work full time on the farm.

Enlisted in July 1940, and was assigned to the DOMF. He married in February 1943, then undertook jungle training in Queensland before embarking for Morotai.

After discharge, he returned to farming, but spinal injuries from his war service forced him to leave the farm, and move to Adelaide in 1963.

He was a long term volunteer at Flinders Medical Centre, and enjoyed overseas travel to meet up with family living overseas.

Esma, his wife of 62 years died in 2005, and Noel struggled on alone until his death in 2007.  He is remembered as always striving to provide the best for his family, and for maintaining contact with all the families of his ten siblings.
