Son of John William and Lucretia Beryl Proud, of Loxton, South Australia.

Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Proud, of Loxton, have received official word that their son Jack, who was previously reported missing when Singapore fell is now reported killed in action on or before February 10, 1942.
Jack was born on February 10, 1920 and enlisted in the AIF in June 1940. He received his education at the Loxton Higher Primary School, where he was  held in high esteem by his fellow school mates. Prior to enlisting he was working on his father's fruit orchard at Media. Mr. and Mrs. Proud have three other sons serving in the forces.
