Name not inscribed on the Wickham Municipal District Roll of Honour Board (2) or the Newcastle Wharf Labourers' Union Roll of Honor or any known War Memorial or Roll of Honour.
Mr Wallace is resting in an unmarked grave, forgotten, so August 2019 I placed a cross adorned with poppies on the gravesite, taken a photo of the grave and uploaded the photo onto the Northern Cemetery website as a permanent record of his service.
I will be submitting an application to DVA asking for official commemoration to restore Joseph’s honour and dignity for his service during The Great War.
Lest We Forget.
