He was 28 and the son of Mr. Henry George and Mrs. E. C. Andrews, of 17, Frederick St., Sittingbourne, Kent, England, formerly of King's Row, Nettlestead near Maidstone, Kent, England.

Agricultural labourer, he was 21 when he arrived in Australia, chiefly connected with Yuna, Giraldton, Western Australia.

Brother of Private, Service Number 6716 Frederick Joseph Andrews of 16th. Battalion Australian Infantry A.I.F., of Shinton Street, Geraldton, Western Australia. Returned to Australia, 1 June 1919.

He is remembered on the Nettlestead War Memorial [His father Henry George Andrews had previously lived at Nettlestead] The memorial is within the lych gate leading to St. Mary the Virgin Church, Nettlestead. There are inscriptions along the front beam and also on the inside of the interior beams.
