BOWBRIDGE.— On March 9, at hospital, William James Bowbridge, of 10 George street, Thebarton, dearly beloved husband of Catherine and loving father of Douglas, William, Joyce and Jim. Aged 45 years. R.I.P.

William James Bowbridge (b.18 March 1904 in Adelaide, SA. d. 11 March 1950 in Adelaide Hospital, Adelaide, SA) was a soldier who served the Australian Army as a Private from 6th June 1940 until his discharge on 13 December 1943.

Bowbridge was always keen on being in the Army. When he was in his teen years, he served 4 years in the Australian Imperial Force Cadets. Growing up, Bowbridge followed the faith of the Roman Catholic religion. Prior to enlistment Bowbridge lived at Thebarton. 

According to his Attestation Paper, Bowbridge was a naturalised British subject. His occupation outside his work for the Australian Army was a Labourer. Bowbridge was married to Catherine Agnes Bowbridge who was his nominated next of kin.
