Mates

My Mother, Cora Esther Holman (nee Kelly) told me that Robert Grant Geddes was a mate of my late uncle Jack Taylor Holman KIA Alamein 26/10/1942 and H E Boully KIA Finschhafen Dec 1943. They and some other enlisted men were given a farewell dinner at the Holman home at "Gowen Brae" Port Germein SA. When asked if he (Geddes) would like a second serve of the meal he answered, "No thanks, leave it in the oven, I'll have it when I come home."
