"Two Missing From A.I.F. Abroad

Gunner Raymond John Sutton, 22, who is reported missing in Java, has five brothers in the fighting forces, and another who was rejected for the Royal Australian Air Force.
Three elder brothers are serving with the A.I.F. abroad, a younger brother is with the A.I.F. in Australia, and the youngest is in the Merchant Navy. Gnr. Sutton is the fifth son of Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Sutton, of Condon street, Rosewater Gardens, who last heard from their son in March from Java. He enlisted in January, 1940, left for overseas in November of that year, and later saw active service in Syria. Mrs. H. A. Sutton, of Condon street Rosewater Gardens, has received a letter card from her son, Gunner Raymond John Sutton, who is a prisoner of war in Java. Gunner Sutton, who is 23, has five brothers in the A.I.F., and another brother in the Merchant Navy.
