Kelly Howard

Noel Kelby Pete Howard was a great friend of Ada Condon and Iris Chellew, whom he met whilst living at Nangari, SA. He sent many photos, postcards and souvenirs to these women, which are kept in a photo album.

Kelly (as he was known) enlisted on 30 April 1940 in the 2nd Australian Railway Construction Company, and went firstly to England, then the Middle East, before returning to Australia, to NSW, NT, Qld and onto Borneo.

Promoted to Corporal whilst serving in Middle East, and Sergeant whilst serving in Borneo.

He was 5 feet 8 1/2 inches tall, with grey eyes, medium complexion and auburn hair. Prior to serving he was a Packer and lived at Nangari, SA.

Discharged 8 Feb 1946.
