Biography

Son of Mr and Mrs SM Gardner, of Price. Educated at Price Public and Croydon Central Schools. Fond of football, cricket tennis and golf. Was Secretary of Cricket Club at time of enlistment, taking part in Cricket Carnivals in the country and in Adelaide. Also played with AIF in England in 1940. In civil life he was employed by Ocean Salt Co. Enlisted in October 1939 and left for overseas in May 1940. He served in Tobruk, Egypt and Syria, returning to Australia in March 1942. Killed in action on August 26 1942.
