Son of Mrs. A and the Late George WOOD, of Price, SA. He was interested in and played tennis for the Price Club for several years. In civil life he worked at the Ocean Solt Extened Company's factory at Price, and at the same time took lessons in fitting and turning. He started training at Woodside and Ingleburn NSW. After eight months' training he was discharged as medically unfit, the result of an accident early in life.
