Son of the late Mr and Mrs Thomas TOBIN, of York Road, Port Pirie.  Educated at St Mark's school Port Pirie, David was residing at 2 Ottolind Street Port Pirie when he enlisted in October 1939.  He sailed for England, then to the Middle East, Ebypt and Syria and returned to Australian on account of sickness in November 1941.
