Michael Sydney O’Brien (SX467) served with Doug Bowman SX442.
Mick wrote this letter in response to a request from Mr Ashby (probably Tom E), to attend the opening of the D A Bowman “Memorial Arch Gates” on April 14th 1956, at the entrance to the Gulnare Recreation Grounds.
Mick (formerly from Georgetown SA) unfortunately was unable to attend the Opening Ceremony because of a War ‘injury’ received in Tobruk.
The letter can be viewed by opening the link to the left titled " Mick's Story".
