Son of Mrs W PROTHERO and the late Mr W BURCHELL, of Tottenham, England. Educated in both England and Australia, Albert was interested in all sport and played cricket and football. Married and residing at 37 Pulteney Street, Adelaide, he was an Architect-in-Chief's Department for several years mostly in the Middle North. After six years in Peterborough he enlisted in October 1939. Leaving Australia in April 1940, and after six months in England he went to the Middle East and took part in the campaign to Tobruk. Invalided from there to Palestine Base Depot he was then transferred to the Provost Corps.
