Son of Mr and Mrs R.W. Todd of Kangarilla.  Educated at Sturt Street (Adelaide) Public School and Prospect Public School he was interested in all sports and played soccer.  In civilian life he was a labourer at Shiek Brush Company and then transferred to Holdens for three years.  He enlisted in October 1939 and left Australia in May 1940 for England.  From here he went to the Middle East and fought through the desert campaign being wouned in action at Tobruk.  Wallace returned to Australia in March 1942.
