Corporal Sydney A. J. Prevost, 2nd A.I.F. whose death has been reported, was born at Brompton on October 29, 1918, and went to Port Lincoln, where he was educated at the Port Lincoln primary and high schools. He sailed in the Alderpoole and was at sea a year, returning to Australia in the Cycle. When the war broke out he was among the first volunteers. He was trained at oodside and Ingleburn where he received his first stripe; the second stripe was added in England. He married an Irish girl before leaving for Lybia. His mother and sister Olive are in Adelaide and his brother George at Port Lincoln. Military notification of his death states that he died from wounds on March 4
