"725 Private Arthur Reginald KEMPSHALL, a 21 year old Carpenter from Palmers Island, Clarence River, New South Wales. KEMPSHALL was an Imperial Reservist and called up as 11398 Driver Arthur Reginald KEMPSHALL, Royal Field Artillery, however, he enlisted with the AIF on 29 August 1914 and was allotted to the 9th Battalion, D Company which embarked from Brisbane, Queensland, on board HMAT A5 Omrah on 24 September 1914. KEMPSHALL subsequently was Wounded in Action, 25 April 1915, then again on 17 August 1915, and then again on 11 November 1915.
