Son of Michael John Hayes and Ellen Hayes of W.A formerly of Tasmania
Brother of William Thomas Hayes who died of wounds on 12 April 1917 while serving with the 51st Battalion. Buried in St. Sever Cemetery Extension, Rouen. Block O, Plot V111, Row P, Grave 4
