Uncle Les
Uncle Les was known as Snow. Or Snowy by his mates in the Army. He had a goatie beard while a POW. He had given his malaria tablets to his mate when he got dysentery he had no medication to save himself. His mate survived and came back to Australia. He was working in the Botanical Gardens of Melbourne when Grandma had contact with him. I later met a neice of this man when I was living in underbool Vic. I also made contact with a daughter of a fellow soldier who was a mate of Les. These 2 soldiers came from the Sealake and Jeparit areas.
