James Broughton HACKETT was born in Adelaide, South Australia on 20th August, 1914
His parents were Richard Broughton HACKETT & Elizabeth Jane WATTS
He enlisted in Newcastle, NSW on 25th June, 1940 in the Australian Army & was discharged on 22nd September, 1945 - last unit was listed as No. 3 Anti Tank Regiment
He married Mary DALLY (nee BELOW) on 3rd April, 1948 in Glenelg, South Australia - children Robert, Helen, John, Margaret & Paul
James died in Adelaide, South Australia on 19th May, 1984 and is buried in the Catholic section 3 of the Stirling Cemetery in Algate, SA

His father Richard Broughton HACKETT served in WW1 (SN 1705) and died of wounds on 1st March, 1917
