He died on 13th July, 1952 in Korea & is listed on the Australian War Memorial and also on the Korea Roll of Honour in Bairnsdale, Victoria

Lieutenant Ryans body was never recovered and is therefore regarded as missing, presumed killed in Action - No known grave
