His parents were William Joseph Boothby SQUIERS & Margaret Mary SUTHERLAND who married in Perth, WA on 18th May, 1920

He married Nita Jean HAYNES in the Presbyterian Church in Randwick, Sydney on 18th January, 1951 & he left Australia for Korea on the following day
