Son of Lucy Allison, of Perth, Western Australia; husband of Lucy Esther Allison, of Armadale, Victoria, Australia.

Walter was the youngest of four children of Fleming (Joe) Allison (b1859 in Diggers Rest, Bulla, Victoria) and Lucy Jane Brown (b1869 in London, England). Fleming (a Motorman) and Lucy (a Domestic Servant) married in Perth WA in 1903. Lucy - a Housemaid when she emigrated - arrived in Albany WA in 1896 on board the Port Melbourne. Joe and Lucy settled in Perth WA where Joe worked as a Motorman until his death in 1921.

Walter worked as a French Polisher in Perth before moving to Sydney NSW where in 1940 he married Louisa (Lucy) Esther Dyson (nee Rowe; b1906 in Woods Point, Victoria). Lucy was in Perth WA in 1925 when she married George Henry Dyson - they Divorced in 1932. Walter and Lucy were in Sydney NSW in May 1940 when Walter enlisted in the Australian Army (Private; Service No:NX14280) - Lucy returned to Melbourne, Victoria. Walter embarked from Sydney for Palestine in August 1940 with 2/4 Infantry Battalion. He was in Crete in June 1941 when he was Reported Missing, believed killed. Walter's date of death is recorded as 28 May 1941. Lucy remained in Melbourne, Victoria until her death in 1994.
