Previously reported missing, believed killed over France, Flight-Lieut Thomas Robert Bowden ("Pip") Anderson, only son of Mr and Mrs T. J. Anderson, 9 Trinafour st, Moonee Ponds-, has been officially  presumed dead. Information received by his parents is that he was buried by the Mayor of Fontaine at Eton peter on June 12, 1944. Flight Lieut Anderson was attached to a RAAF Mustang squadron  trafing an enemy convoy between Falaise and Caen. He joined the RAAF in July, 1941, and gained his wings and commission in March, 1942. In May of the same year he was posted to England, and  took part in many operations over France and Germany. He was 23 years of age, and was educated at Wonthaggi Technical School and Taylor's Coaching College, Melbourne. Before enlisting he was  attached to the superintendent's office, Bank of Australasia, Collins st.

DEATH OVER FRANCE
Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Anderson, of Trinafour st„ Moonee Ponds, have been advised that their only Flight-Lieut Thomas Robert Bowden Anderson, has now been officially presumed to have lost his life on July 10, 1944. Information has been received that he was buried by the Mayor of Fontaine at Etoupe-tour, France. He was attached to a R.A.F, Mustang squadron, and died while strafing an enemy convoy  between Falaise and Caen, Fiight-Lieut. Anderson joined the R.A.A.F. in July, 1941, In May, 1942. he was posted to England, and later took part in many operational nights over France and Germany He 
was 23.
