Son of Norman Harold and Helen Anette Atkinson, of Shepparton, Victoria, Australia

There were newspaper articles suggesting that he may have been known as Jim Friday alias Thomas James Essex. Investigations were messy and involved the RAAF, Dept. of Immigration and Army records. No RAAF records were found under the name of Thomas James Essex
