Brabazon Clarence BADGERY was born in Leeton, New South Wales on 21st October, 1917 

His parents were Frank Ernest BADGERY and Annie Mary STAFFORD

He originally enlisted on 31st January, 1939 as a Private in the 54th Battalion (Volunteers) before enlisting for WW2 on 22nd July, 1940 in Paddington, NSW - he embarked with the 2/19th Infantry Battalion which was part of the 22nd Brigade of the  Australian Division on the ship "Queen Mary" on 2nd February, 1941

He was promoted to Lance Corporal on 27th February, 1941 and transferred to the 27th Australian Infantry Battalion Headquarters on 29th August, 1941

He was taken a prisoner of war by the Japanese on 5th February, 1942 and taken to Changi Prison Camp

Brabazon died of Illness on the Burma Thai Railway on 9th July, 1943 and is buried in Kanchanaburi War Cemetery in a Collective Grave (Plot 1, Row 0 Grave 8 ( graves 4 -43)

His Brother, Frank Alexander BADGERY (SN 412565) also served in WW2 in the Royal Australian Air Force and was awarded a Distinguished Flying Cross - he was discharged in 1946
