Gordon Robertson BALCOMBE was born in Dubbo, NSW on 1st September, 1921
His parents were William Gould BALCOMBE & Annie Laurie ROBERTSON who married in Bourke, NSW in 1920
Before joining the RAAF on 5th December, 1941 he served in the 21st Field Regiment Artillery

His father William Gould BALCOMBE served as a Lieutenant during WW1 in the Field Artillery Brigade and returned to Australia in 1919
